Badhte Kadam- Selfless Service
Badhte Kadam, an entirely volunteer-run organization of the state keeps striding ahead with a vast multitude of humanitarian projects.
Late Mr. Anil Gurubakshani, the founder of this philanthropic organization was primarily a government school teacher. He envisioned that human actions must be responsible towards every life around. His vision, well ahead of his time, has been the guiding light for the members of the organization to continue his legacy post his sudden demise.
Since its establishment in 2005, the members have been deeply involved in serving the underprivileged & socially troubled strata each day. It started with management of condolence meets. Gradually more and more members kept joining in, and the organisation extended its services to blood donation, eye donation, body donation, coffin freezer & mortuary services, old age home, scholarship schemes, self employment schemes, ambulance service, hearse service by the name of Swargrath, computer training & coaching classes, providing prosthetic instruments for the specially abled ones, a byre for sick, wounded and stranded cows, and much more.
Their achievements deserve great acknowledgement. They have established the very first private mortuary of Chhattisgarh which can keep dead bodies for up to 10 days. This mortuary also safely preserves the bodies of jawans martyred in the Naxal Operations. They have also conducted a number of body donations. Tens of thousands of needy people have been benefited by their food, medicine and clothes dispensation services. They have also persuaded a large number of individuals to donate their eyes. Moreover, this organization is completely capable of providing required blood at any given time, their average blood donation rate being almost 100 per month. They don’t limit their services to the academically sound and talented students of the lower strata of society by just gifting stationery and other items. They have adopted 100 children with the responsibility to educate them, monitoring their progress on a regular basis through the year. In spite of facing challenges every now and then, the members never turn bitter and continue delivering their services with a pleasant genuine smile on their faces.
