Don’t Run because you have to, run because you can!
In an Age where every individual is running after money, name, fame Dr. Vinay Tiwary, a
renowned pathologist of Chhattisgarh is inspiring people of Raipur to get on their feet and
“Run for Fun”. “Running is better than all other Sports! The Related Risk of Injury while
running is lesser as compared to other Sports.” – He says
The Starting Point
Dr Tiwary founder of Lets Run- Chhattisgarh’s First Runner’s Community has been motivating runners across the state since 1st November 2015. He set up a Facebook page posted the details of the first run which just had two runners and now has built a community which has around 2300+ members. A positive response from the people of Raipur provided the impetus he needed; he soon organized his second run in March 2016 of 21km which witnessed cumulative participation of almost 400 persons.
Since then he has organized around three qualifier Half Marathons which has seen enthusiastic participation from the people of the state. There are a lot of things one needs to keep in mind before running a Marathon and hence he believes in organizing Run Expo before Marathons where there are expert talks by Doctors, Runners, Nutrition, and Experiential Running. He says – “We organize runs two to
three times a week. We did not have a qualifier’s run in the state until now. We provide a qualifier certificate for participation in National and International Marathons. We can proudly say Raipur has one of the best tracks for running in India.”
