Employment Significance of IT and BPM industry

Nasscom expects the sector to add about 2,05,000 jobs, higher than in 2019. Due to a high employment multiplier, IT jobs are highly significant vis-a-vis other sectors.  

The employment multiplier measures the amount of direct, indirect, and induced jobs created (or lost) in the area. We can see from the table that the Information industry of which software services is the largest part has one of the highest job multipliers.
