Dr. Palak Gawri, an Obstetrician and Gynecologist specializes in the field of infertility. She has been practicing since more than two decades now. She has treated more than five thousand infertile couples and has made them realize their dream of parenthood. Born and brought up in Raipur, she has completed her MBBS and MD (Gynaecology) from JN Medical College. She set up her IVF centre in 2008.
Early Life and Career
Born in November 1965 Dr. Palak Gawri is the daughter of Shri Nandlal Utmani and Shrimati Jaywanti Utmani. She tells us – “Since the time I was born, my dad wanted me to become a Doctor, he has been my inspiration and my reason to be doctor. I worked with Dr. Saxena in the early years of my career and I would see Husbands coming there with multiple wives, since they couldn’t have a baby not realizing that the problem might be within him. That is when I realized I want to be an IVF specialist. ”

She explains –“ Dealing with infertility is intimidating for many people. Less than 50 percent of couples who are referred to an infertility specialist end up not taking an appointment. They’re afraid their problem can’t be treated or that the cost will be too high. But the first step towards achieving a successful pregnancy is to have an evaluation by an experienced fertility specialist. The sooner you start this process, the better.”
She further says “You never know how badly you want something until you are told that it may not be possible. I just wish to educate and provide resolution to people who are impacted by infertility. Not necessarily each and every case requires IVF, there might be some problems which can be cured by medicines. It is necessary to evaluate the same.”
She also believes that – Before looking into IVF, couples should actively try to conceive and supplement with nutrients that support egg and sperm health. Women need prenatal vitamin and antioxidants. Both partners should eat well, exercise, quit smoking and drug use, and limit caffeine and alcohol. Stress reduction helps pregnancy rates. Studies prove that excessive use of mobile phones, laptops and other electronic gadgets can cause male infertility.

Snippets of her Personal Life
A fitness freak, Dr.Palak enjoys yoga and gymming. A family person with a lot of friends, she loves socializing. Married to Upendra Gawri, she is blessed with two children Abhishek and Mahima who have both selected the Medical Career. “I believe in striking a balance between my family and work life.” – she says
She believes in the acquired knowledge that she has. She says –“I work hard for my patients and do my best, and that is my achievement. I aim for achievement and forget about success. Success gives you recognition, but when you do your best, irrespective of recognition, that feeling is better than any other compliment. I celebrate my own work when I know I have achieved my best.”
