Sendh Lake – situated at an elevation of 3,894 metres (12,774 feet) in the Spiti Valley above Dhankar Village, between the towns of Kaza and Tabo . The best sunset of the city can be witnessed from the lake.

It’s a fifteen minutes’ drive from VIP ROAD and there are many cafés & stores near the lake where one can sit and chat for hours. The best time to visit Sendh Lake is in the evening.

Sendh Lake recently caught Raipur’s attention during the lockdown. It’s located opposite Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International cricket stadium. Initially deserted, post the Lockdown, Sendh lake has become a regular place of visit for a lot of people.

The foggy air, the radiant sunset, the buzzing sound of people, the warm water and cool breeze defines the beauty of this place. It smells of “HOPE”. 2020 has taken many things from people. Businesses shut, cinema halls closed, hotels turned into hospitals, jobs lost, dream projects paused, marriages postponed, but this place inspired the saying “BLESSING IN DISGUISE” as it radiated its way through this pandemic.

Sendh Lake can make one feel detached from the real world. The cities may have the best night life, but there is something very soothing about nature, that just completely pulls one from meaningless reality called life.

This place has also brought employment opportunities for a lot of people.

While visiting this place, please keep few things in mind:

  • Bring your own water bottles.
  • Don’t forget to click pictures with Satya Sai hospital in the background.
  • Don’t throw garbage or any waste into the lake or nearby.
  • Don’t forget to witness the sunset.
    Lastly, don’t forget to breathe.
