Makrama by leelas is an interior design studio providing interior design services and consultations, along with recently launched furniture’s, home decor and home finishes and handmade products.

The craft of knotting a variety of geometric designs without employing hooks, needles or hoops is the art of macramē. The macramē culture has showed it’s come back like never before and is playing a very major role in the world of interior design.

‘As far as I can remember being an interior designer wasn’t really a plan. I believe, I took my time, got my hands on different courses before I finally landed at a designing college,” tells Vartika Dingwani. She is young, she is smart and is definitely an expert in the craft of interior design. Vartika did her diploma in designing from Aesthetic Institute, Raipur. In the process of transforming an empty space into something beautiful, she fell in love with the field and eventually completed her post graduation from Pearl Academy, Mumbai.
Later when she designed her own house, she learnt how designing can be made functional. Designing a space for self gives one an eye for details. She has worked with renowned names like Sahara Star Mumbai and the Jindal Group, to name a few, which gave her a wider perspective and sharpened her abilities as a designer. “While designing has always been my passion, Macrame is my meditation. I have successfully spent four years as a designer and when it comes to taking some time off for myself, I have always caught myself watching macrame videos and décor,” states Vartika. After mastering the art by practising it for over 117 hours, she decided to bring it out to people.
