Managing Director at @shubhjewelers and one of the few Certified Graduate Gemologist in Chhattisgarh, Siddharth Baid has been a part of this industry over a decade now. With his enterprising ways and achievements at a very young age, he is setting the right example for the young entrepreneurs of today.

He says, “In today’s time, it’s so difficult to know the genuineness of the stones as there are so many close imitations available. So it was very important for me to excel in my field and differentiate the fake from the real ones.”

He has successfully helped restore the lost faith in diamond jewellery in the people of Chhattisgarh that has been good for the entire market.
Siddharth tells us “The role of a certified gemologist is crucial to our industry. Now I can discern visible and measurable difference in minerals and can determine if a gemstone is natural, synthetic, was subjected to treatment or not. This is accomplished using a variety of tools, including simple as well as sophisticated equipment. We also take careful measurements to the 1/100th of a millimetre and verify the carat weight.
The reason I opted for this rare course, was my interest in this subject and my yearning to gain technical, in-depth knowledge to discover the breath-taking world of diamonds, gemstones and jewellery. So here I not only learnt the 4 Cs of diamonds but also to determine which mine the Diamonds, Emeralds and Sapphires originated from. While pursuing this course I developed more fascination for diamonds and now I feel more confident to face the industry. I was intrigued by the insightful learnings on the way. Top Jewellers from different countries Israel, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong among others were my peers and the interaction with them added to my knowledge about diamonds and other precious stones. “
He further adds – “I wanted to give better service to my clients, provided complete diamond evaluations and ultimately help one get value for their money and that was my motive behind pursuing this course. Along with this my dad’s righteousness gave me further impetus. We are extremely particular in providing genuine products to our customers and we all know in today’s times it’s so difficult to know the genuineness of the stones as there are so many close imitations available these days. It was very important for me to excel in my field and so here I am a Graduate Gemologist who can differentiate the fake from the real ones.
