“Art is Beautiful in whichever form it may be”-Jayshree Bhagwanani
Jayshree Bhagwanani born in 1961 in Gwalior, always had an inclination towards art and culture which is evident from the field she chose to follow after finishing her graduation in B.Sc and later M.A (Econ) from Bhopal University in 1982, She went for diploma in Batik from La Martiniere SEOMP Kolkata and finished her studies in National Diploma in Fine Arts from Lalit Kala Academy New Delhi in 1986.
All her life even before she persuaded her study of Arts, Jayshree had an artistic and creative approach of looking at things she tries to put her vision on canvas and depict it through her paintings.
Jayshree Bhagwanani is also a founding member of Art Home which is an NGO dedicated to introduce and teach arts to every section of the society irrespective of their socioeconomic background and from last 35 years they have been organising summer camps to teach arts every year practically free of cost.
Jayshree has been prolific in her work specialising in figurative abstractions.Her various art shows all over the country represents her achievements as an artist.
For her achievements in the field of arts and her contribution towards society and the role she plays in promoting art in the state she has been presented with various awards too.
She believes she owes it to Art and she does everything in her power to promote it, one of her endeavours in this process is ‘Rangayan’ a Fine Arts Workshop organised every year at where renowned artist from all over the country come to Raipur to ideate, share and exchange arts and culture with each other and create beautiful works of art.
Jayshree also believes that art has the power to shape the society for openness and inclusiveness. Art knows no boundaries and it opens one’s horizons is the mantra she believes in and wants to spread this message to all the sections of our society.
In her endeavour to spread awareness about arts she has trained arts to the inmates of the Central Jail of Raipur from the year 1998 to 2008.
From the last 10 years she has been teaching arts to the children with special needs at Akansha in Raipur absolutely free of cost and her most ambitious and on going NGO Art Home has been teaching arts from the last 35 years for free to any one & everyone who is willing to take it up as a career or just wants to do it as a hobby.
