Renuka Yadav the first woman Olympian of Chhattisgarh in the Rio 2016 Hockey Women squad.

Her humble background did not let go of her passion for hockey, she has come a long way in becoming the first woman in Chhattisgarh to qualify for Olympics.

She started playing hockey from a very young age.
The 22-year-old started playing hockey when she was in class seven. Her mentor Bushan Sao got her first hockey stick, and her hockey journey began with him. Renuka received free hockey training at the Girls Hockey Academy in Gwalior since class 10.

Not just the first girl from Chhattisgarh, she is also the youngest in the women’s hockey team to ever qualify for Rio Olympics in women’s hockey.
