Amin Farista, the only khadi designer from Chhattisgarh having represented CG at the reputed Bangalore Fashion Week and Pune Fashion week.

Amin Farista, based at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, designs solely in hand-woven fabrics
especially Khadi since 18 years and his designs are showcased under the Label and Brand Name
“GANDHIAN FAB”. He believes that khadi is the most versatile fabric made of the very indigenous moral fiber of India. He finds a “human touch” in khadi because it is not the mindless
creation by machines but has the weaver’s emotions and hard work woven in its natural threads!
AMIN AND HIS DESIGNS IN KHADI:
Khadi has the power of freedom and global acceptance and he wishes to promote khadi among
the emancipated generation next, the future of India. Amin’s Couture is an attempt to innovate,
recreate and embrace modernity, keeping in mind India’s rich cultural heritage.

AMIN AND HIS AIM:
His aim is to attract the attention of many iconic and professional women as well as the new
generation towards adopting this green fabric – a unique way by which he pays homage to our
Nation-India! His aim is to portray through the display of his various novel cuts; the versatility
of khadi. He is working to give new and modern cuts and styles on this fabric to make it more
acceptable among Gen Next. He is even working to promote the weavers and bunkars and is
even trying to keep alive many of their fast fading heritage skills.
INNOVATION IN KHADI AND AMIN:
The color palate he uses for his designs is vibrant. Khadi is no more the “coarse khaddar” it once
used to be. The modern techniques of fabric making have sophisticated this fabric which now has
been transformed into a smooth, almost mul finish by blending with other natural fibers like
cotton, silk etc.
AMIN’S DREAM ABOUT KHADI:
He has seen a dream where he has visualized more and more people using Khadi and feeling
proud to be an Indian and wearing a totally Indian fabric. He dreams to bring khadi in forefront
in malls and in page 3 parties. His motto is: “KHADI IN MALL” AND “MAKEOVER OF
KHADI” “KHADI IS YOUNG AND FOR THE YOUNG”
